Biography

Erik Skyum-Nielsen is an associate professor emeritus at the University of Copenhagen specializing in Modern Danish and Scandinavian literature. His academic interests include medieval and modern Icelandic literature, narratology, and translation studies. His qualifications include a Mag.art. degree in Nordic literature obtained in 1974. Throughout his career, he has received numerous awards and recognitions for his translations and contributions to literature, including the Orðstír Prize for translations from Icelandic and the Einar Hansen Research Fund's fellowship.
