Biography

Dr. Erika J. Crosby is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Duke Cancer Institute. She obtained her Ph.D. in Immunology from the University of Pennsylvania, where her research focused on using models of chronic infection to investigate the mechanisms by which the immune system inflicts damage on healthy tissue. After completing her postdoctoral fellowship at Duke, she applied her expertise to test new therapies aimed at bypassing immune system regulation in the treatment of breast cancer. In 2021, Dr. Crosby launched her own research program at Duke. Over the years, she has held multiple positions within the School of Medicine, emphasizing her expertise in Integrative Immunobiology and Molecular Genetics and Microbiology.
