Biography

Erika van Elsas is an Assistant Professor at Radboud University in the Department of Political Science, focusing on empirical political science. Her research investigates citizens' perceptions of the legitimacy of political institutions at both the national and EU levels, specifically how information polarization affects these perceptions and the subsequent implications for the quality of democracy. She obtained her PhD with honors in 2017 from the University of Amsterdam and has worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the Amsterdam School of Communication Research (ASCoR) and the Amsterdam Institute for Social Science Research (AISSR). In addition to her research activities, she coordinates courses on political science research methods for both Bachelor's and Master's programs.
