Biography

Erin F. Delaney is a Professor of Law at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law and serves as the Inaugural Director of the Global Centre for Democratic Constitutionalism. She is recognized for her expertise in Comparative Constitutional Law and has received numerous teaching awards, including the 2015 Childres Award for outstanding teaching. Professor Delaney has taught various courses including Constitutional Law, the Fourteenth Amendment, Public Law Colloquium, and Immigration Law. Before her current position, she held academic roles at Columbia Law School and served as a law clerk for Associate Justice David H. Souter of the Supreme Court of the United States, as well as for Judge Guido Calabresi of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. She obtained her J.D. from New York University School of Law, where she graduated magna cum laude and served as Editor-in-Chief of the NYU Law Review. She also earned her Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge, where her dissertation received the Walter Bagehot Prize from the UK Political Studies Association.
