Biography

Erin F. Delaney is a Professor of Law at Northwestern University, with a courtesy appointment in the Department of Political Science. Her scholarship explores constitutionalism from a comparative perspective, focusing on federalism and judicial design. In 2022, she was named a Federal Scholar in Residence at Eurac Research’s Institute for Comparative Federalism in Bolzano, Italy. Delaney has previously held the Fulbright Visiting Research Chair in the Theory and Practice of Constitutionalism and Federalism at McGill University. She has also secured research fellowships at the University of Edinburgh and the Université Libre de Bruxelles. Her teaching and mentorship have received several accolades, including the 2015 Childres Award for outstanding teaching at Northwestern and the 2020 Harvard Law School Student Government Teaching and Advising Award. Her select publications include works on comparative judicial review and constitutional design. She teaches courses on U.S. Constitutional Law, Immigration Law, and Constitutional Design.
