Biography

Erin Faught is an Assistant Professor at Radboud University, specializing in Plant and Animal Biology. Her research primarily focuses on understanding the effects of stress on immune function and behavior, utilizing zebrafish as a model organism. Through her work, she aims to uncover the mechanisms by which stress hormones, such as cortisol, and their receptors, including glucocorticoid and mineralocorticoid receptors, influence various biological processes. Faught has demonstrated that short periods of stress can enhance the immune system in transgenic zebrafish lines and is currently investigating the underlying molecular mechanisms of these effects. She is also exploring how corticosteroid receptors contribute to stress-related behaviors. In addition to her research, Faught is involved in teaching and mentoring students in related fields.
