Dr. Erin Ratcliff

Biography

Erin L. Ratcliff is an Assistant Professor at the University of Arizona specializing in materials science and chemical engineering. She has a comprehensive educational background with a B.A. in Chemistry, Mathematics, and Statistics from St. Olaf College and a PhD in Physical Chemistry from Iowa State University. Dr. Ratcliff has held various positions at the University of Arizona since 2007, including Research Scientist and Research Assistant Professor, and has advanced to Assistant Professor in Materials Science and Associate Professor in Chemical Engineering. Her research focuses on the interface science of printable electronic materials, utilizing a combination of electrochemistry, spectroscopy, and microscopy to understand the functionality and performance of materials in applications such as solar cells, batteries, and transistors. She leads a research group that addresses fundamental structure-property relationships and current mechanisms of electron transport in next-generation materials, especially metal halide perovskites and organic electronics. Dr. Ratcliff has received several awards, including the EFRC 10@10: Developing Generation Scientific Talent Award and has served as a summer faculty fellow for the Office of Naval Research.
