Biography

Erin Ziegler is an Associate Professor and the Nurse Practitioner (NP) Site Coordinator at the Daphne Cockwell School of Nursing at Toronto Metropolitan University. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) and Master of Nursing (MN) from Toronto Metropolitan University and her PhD from McMaster University. Her clinical work focuses on providing primary healthcare to LGBTQ2SA individuals and she serves as the clinical director of a transgender primary care program. Ziegler's research interests are centered on advanced practice nursing education and her activities are aimed at enhancing nursing education through culturally informed and trauma-based care principles. She has received multiple awards for her innovative thinking and contribution to community advocacy and inclusive teaching. Erin teaches various courses in the MN NP program that focus on the development of nursing knowledge, health assessment, and the integration of practical experiences.
