Biography

Erna Ruijer is an Associate Professor at Utrecht University School of Governance (USG). Her research focuses on the re-use of open data to address public problems, social equity in data, and data collaboratives. Erna has worked as a researcher on the multidisciplinary EU Horizon 2020 project ROUTE-TO-PA, which involved twelve partners across six countries. In her teaching role, she is involved in both bachelor and master programs. She obtained her Ph.D. in Public Policy Administration from the Douglas Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs at Virginia Commonwealth University in the USA. Prior to returning to academia, Erna worked as a policy maker in the city of Amsterdam and as a consultant at a firm specializing in government communication.
