Biography

Ernest J. Wilson III is a Professor of Communication and Political Science at USC Annenberg, where he is also the Dean and Founder of the Center for Third Space Thinking. With over 30 years of experience at the intersection of communication and public policy, he has published extensively and engaged in executive education focused on developing soft skills for the digital age. His recent research emphasizes critical workforce competencies necessary for talent development in the 21st century. Previously, Wilson served as a faculty member at the University of Michigan and the University of Pennsylvania, and was a senior research scholar at the University of Maryland. He has been involved with numerous international agencies including the World Bank and the United Nations, and has held significant positions such as a deputy director for the Global Information Infrastructure Commission. He is a Fellow at the Center for Global Communications and a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. His accolades include being named a Distinguished Scholar by the International Studies Association in 2009 and receiving the Twenty-Five Year Achievement Award from the Public Policy International Affairs Program in 2005.
