Biography

Ernest M. Wright is an Emeritus Distinguished Professor at UCLA Medical School, where he has contributed significantly to the field of Physiology since joining the faculty in 1967. He earned his B.Sc. in Physiology and Chemistry from the University of London and his Ph.D. in Physiology from the University of Sheffield. By employing an array of techniques including biophysical, biochemical, and genetic methods, he aims to unravel the complexities of SGLT function and its implications in metabolic disorders such as diabetes. He has also held visiting professor positions at various prestigious institutions worldwide and has been recognized with numerous awards throughout his career.
