Biography

Professor Ernst C. Wit is a distinguished academic in the field of Statistics and Data Science, currently serving as the director of the Institute of Computing and vice dean of the Faculty of Informatics at Università della Svizzera italiana in Lugano, Switzerland. He is an author of 160 peer-reviewed publications and has served as president of various statistical societies, reflecting his influence in the field of biostatistics and data science. Currently, he is leading two Swiss National Science Foundation projects focused on Sparse Network Inference and advising the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Netherlands on statistical matters.
