Biography

Erwan Morellec is a Full Professor of Finance at the Swiss Finance Institute (SFI) at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), where he holds the Swiss Finance Institute senior chair. He is also the head of the SFI nation-wide PhD Program and a CEPR Research Fellow. Erwan is an expert in corporate finance, corporate governance, and sustainable finance. He has taught courses at EPFL, HEC Lausanne, MIT Sloan, and the University of Rochester. His research has been presented at major academic conferences and seminar series around the world and published in leading academic journals including the Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, Review of Financial Studies, and Management Science. Throughout his career, Erwan has received various research and teaching awards, including the Leadership Award from the University of Rochester in 2002, the Barclays Global Investors Award in 2006, and the ACA Award for outstanding academic performance from the University of St. Gallen in 2021. He holds a PhD in Finance, summa cum Laude, from HEC Paris.
