Biography

Ery Arias-Castro is a Professor at the Halıcıoğlu Data Science Institute at the University of California, San Diego. He obtained his Ph.D. in Statistics from Stanford University in 2004. Following his doctoral work, he took on postdoctoral positions at the Institute for Pure and Applied Mathematics (IPAM) and the Mathematical Sciences Research Institute (MSRI). At IPAM, he participated in programs focused on multiscale geometry and analysis in high dimensions, while at MSRI, he engaged in programs covering the mathematical and computational statistical aspects of image analysis. Dr. Arias-Castro joined the faculty of the mathematics department at UC San Diego in 2005.
