Biography

Estacio Pereira is currently an Associate Professor (Teaching) at the University of Calgary's Schulich School of Engineering. He obtained his Doctorate degree from the University of Alberta in 2017, and holds a Master’s degree from the Federal University of Santa Catarina. Pereira also earned a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering from the University of Vale of Itajai, Brazil. His principal research area includes Engineering Education, Leadership, and Construction Safety Management. Pereira has five years of experience as a construction project manager in Brazil and has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in Brazil, Canada, and the UK. He aims to merge his academic and industry experiences to assist students in developing project management skills and preparing for the job market. His research interests focus on Project Management, Safety Management Systems, Serious Games, and Occupational Health & Safety.
