Biography

Esther Kaufmann studied psychology at the University of Zurich and obtained her doctorate under Professor W. Wittmann at the University of Mannheim. She has held research and teaching positions at various universities including Zurich and Konstanz, and completed a research stay supported by the Swiss National Science Foundation with Professor David V. Budescu at Fordham University in New York City, USA. Since autumn 2020, she has been part of the iScience group. In spring 2022, she successfully completed her habilitation examination at the University of Zurich. In the winter semester of 2024/25, she will represent the Professorship of Psychological Research Methods at the Wilhelm Wundt Institute for Psychology at the University of Leipzig. In the following summer semester, she will represent the Professorship for Psychological Research Methods at the University of Jena. Her research focuses on evaluation methods (e.g., meta-analysis, modeling, and measuring competencies, test development and evaluation), methods of internet-based research, decision research (e.g., among teachers, acceptance of AI), and research methods applied to the education sector.
