Dr. Esther Van Raamsdonk

Biography

Esther van Raamsdonk is a lecturer at Utrecht University, specializing in early modern English literature. She completed her Ph.D. at the University of Exeter and holds a Master's degree in early modern English literature from Bangor University. Throughout her academic career, she has worked at several prestigious institutions, including the University of Exeter, Queen Mary University London, the University of Oxford, and the University of Warwick. Currently, she is finalizing her monograph entitled State Bibles: Cultural Politics Anglo-Dutch Translation Adaptation, which is forthcoming from the British Academy. This work is a significant output from a four-year project funded by the British Academy at the University of Warwick. Her research interests span various areas including poetry, Anglo-Dutch relations, English and Dutch Republican writings, Arminianism, political propaganda, biblical narratives, and the works of notable literary figures such as John Milton, Andrew Marvell, John Dryden, Constantijn Huygens, and Joost van den Vondel.
