Biography

Ethan Molitch-Hou, MD MPH SFHM, is an academic hospitalist specializing in the care of hospitalized patients. He earned his MD and MPH from Northwestern University and completed his Internal Medicine training at the University of Chicago. He previously worked as a primary care physician and community hospitalist before returning to the University of Chicago in January 2020. During the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic, he served as the lead hospitalist in a structured COVID care unit. Currently, Dr. Molitch-Hou is the director of the Hospital Medicine Sub-Internship rotation, serves as core faculty in the Internal Medicine Residency program, and is the co-medical director for the Care Transitions Clinic. His research includes a variety of topics, including the implementation of automated diagnosis tools, the impact of the COVID-19 public health crisis on hospital physicians' behaviors, and the effects of diabetes technology use in hospital settings. He has published numerous articles in high-impact journals related to these areas.
