Biography

Ethan W. Sussman is an NSF Postdoctoral Fellow at Northwestern University, specializing in microlocal analysis and its applications to singular geometry, partial differential equations, and mathematical physics. He holds a Ph.D. in Pure Mathematics from MIT, completed in 2023, where he was fortunate to be advised by Peter Hintz. Prior to this, he was a Szego Assistant Professor at Stanford University. Ethan's research primarily focuses on wave propagation in manifolds, the Schrödinger equation, and relativistic wave equations, along with studies in adiabatic limits and causal perturbation theory. His ongoing and recent publications include studies on asymptotic structures in scattering theory and microlocal analysis related to the Klein-Gordon equation. He actively collaborates with notable mathematicians and has several preprints in progress that further contribute to the field. His teaching experience includes courses in Quantum Field Theory and Calculus at various academic institutions. Ethan is passionate about advancing knowledge within the mathematical community, especially in areas of mathematical physics that intersect with analysis and geometry.
