Biography

Etienne Mahe is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Cumming School of Medicine at the University of Calgary, specializing in pathology and laboratory medicine. He is a member of the Arnie Charbonneau Cancer Institute and operates within the Calgary Lab Services in the Hematology division. He has completed fellowship training focused on next-generation sequencing technologies for cancer testing and has a significant interest in genetics, particularly concerning B T-cell clonality and cutaneous lymphoproliferative disorders. As a principal investigator, Dr. Mahe leads a prospective study examining cell-free DNA in B-cell Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and serves as a co-investigator in various studies regarding clinical applications of metabolomic profiling in lymphomas and myeloid neoplasia. Additionally, he is involved in validating numerous NGS assays for the work-up of hematologic malignancies at the CLS Hematology lab. Dr. Mahe's ongoing research includes developing and validating novel immune cell profiling assays, and he possesses a patent related to his work. With expertise in designing informatic pipelines for NGS data analysis, he brings a wealth of knowledge to his research and teaching responsibilities.
