Ettore Augusto Contro was born in Milan in 1974 and graduated in industrial design from the Politecnico di Milano in 2001. He attended a first-level Master's program in 2002 focusing on the techniques of digital prototyping for industrial products and rapid prototyping. His professional career began at the ONEOFF modeling studio in Milan, where he was responsible for modeling and specialized in using CAM on multi-tool milling machines. As a freelancer, he has worked in the field of exhibition design and collaborated continuously from 2004 to 2009 with architect Marco Della Torre's studio as the lead designer responsible for 3D modeling and prototyping in design projects, museum installations, and commissioned artworks. From 2010 to 2013, he taught materials technology at NABA, covering theoretical aspects of rapid prototyping techniques and classical modeling approaches. He worked at the Academy of Architecture in Mendrisio from 2012 to 2023 as an assistant in the digital representation course and studio courses led by Atelier Blumer. He currently lives in the province of Como and serves as the head of digital modeling machines at the Academy of Mendrisio.
