Biography

Eugene Shapiro is a Professor of Pediatrics and Epidemiology at Yale School of Medicine, focusing on Infectious Diseases. He obtained a BA in English Literature from Yale College in 1970 and an MD from the University of California, San Francisco in 1976. He is board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Infectious Diseases and has served on numerous advisory committees, including for the World Health Organization. His research interests include clinical epidemiology, vaccine effectiveness, Lyme Disease, and management of patients with complex medical conditions.
