Eugene K. Wai is an Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Ottawa and serves as an Attending Physician at The Ottawa Hospital, specializing in Orthopaedic Surgery. With extensive training in Neurosurgical Orthopaedic Spinal Surgery from the University of Adelaide and Orthopaedic Trauma from the University of Toronto, Dr. Wai is recognized for his clinical expertise and contributions to research in spinal health. He holds a medical doctorate and a Master's in Community Health with a focus on Clinical Epidemiology, enhancing his proficiency in evidence-based medical practices. His research interests encompass Evidence Based Surgery, Health Systems Research, and the application of Large Data and Machine Learning Analytics in healthcare. Dr. Wai has played a pivotal role in advancements in minimally invasive spinal surgery and is actively involved in the Canadian Spine Society as the Director of Research.
