Biography

Euijin Choo is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computing Science at the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada. He received his Ph.D. from North Carolina State University in 2015, where he was supervised by Dr. Min Chi and Dr. Ting Yu. Prior to his current role, he served as a postdoctoral researcher at the Qatar Computing Research Institute (QCRI), a research professor at Korea University, and a visiting assistant professor at the University of Missouri, Rolla. His academic work primarily focuses on the intersection of security and big data analysis, involving areas such as graph mining, data mining, machine learning, and deep learning. Specifically, he has conducted research on security information assurance e-commerce, anomaly detection in network traffic, and enterprise logs. Euijin's contributions to the field have been recognized with numerous awards, including the Provost Fellowship at NC State University and the Brain Korea 21 Scholarship from the Korea Research Foundation, as well as a paper award from DBSEC in 2015.
