Biography

Eun-Ok Im is the Dean and Professor at the University of Texas at Austin, School of Nursing, and holds the Laura Lee Blanton Chair. She has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN, magna cum laude) and a Master's in Public Health (MPH) from Seoul National University, with a Master's in Science in Nursing (MSN) and a PhD from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). Dr. Im is an internationally recognized methodologist and theorist in global women’s health, particularly focused on the experiences of midlife women. Over the years, she has successfully secured multiple NIH grants, including five R01s, as well as numerous publications, exceeding 450 in total, with over 250 in refereed journals. Her research is known for the development of theoretical and methodological frameworks that adapt to the Digital Age, significantly influencing nursing research methodologies and the application of computer and mobile technologies. Dr. Im has been honored with multiple national and international awards, including the 2014 International Nurse Researcher Hall of Fame Award and the 2023 Oncology Nursing Society Distinguished Research Award. Furthermore, she has been recognized for her mentorship of doctoral students internationally and continues to lead in nursing education and research.
