Biography

Eun Hyun Ahn is an associate research professor at the Johns Hopkins Whiting School of Engineering in the Department of Biomedical Engineering. Ahn's research focuses on the detection of low-frequency mutations at a genome-wide level using a novel deep sequencing technology known as Duplex Sequencing (DS). The lab studies how cell function is influenced by microenvironments, especially extracellular matrix (ECM)-biomimetic nanotopography, and applies cutting-edge experimental approaches to investigate genomic changes associated with migratory phenotypes in breast cancer and glioblastoma. Ahn's current and future research projects aim to identify biomarkers for early detection and therapy resistance in tumor recurrence, utilizing advanced deep sequencing and ECM-biomimetic technologies. In addition, Ahn is developing innovative strategies for preclinical screening of anti-migratory chemotherapeutic agents.
