Biography

Eva Maria Albert is a research assistant at the Department of Evolutionary Biology and Environmental Studies at the University of Zurich. Her research encompasses the study of genetic variability in natural populations using molecular analytical tools to understand the factors determining genetic variation over space and time. She has a particular focus on population genetics, emphasizing dispersal and connectivity among populations in changing environments. Through her current research, Albert applies graph techniques to build spatial networks of genetic variability based on haplotypes, aiming to determine how the structure of these networks affects metapopulation dynamics. She holds a Ph.D. in Evolutionary Biology from the National Museum of Natural Science in Madrid, Spain, and has held various postdoctoral positions at the Spanish Research Council's Doñana Biological Station.
