Dr. Eva Baker

Biography

Eva Baker is a Distinguished Research Professor at the University of California, Los Angeles, in the School of Education and Information Studies. She has held several important positions, including serving as the President of the World Educational Research Association and the American Educational Research Association in 2010 and as a member of the National Academy of Education. Dr. Baker has co-chaired a committee that produced the widely recognized 'Standards for Educational and Psychological Testing' published in 1999. Currently, she directs the UCLA's Center for the Study of Evaluation (CSE) and the Center for Research on Evaluation, Standards, and Student Testing (CRESST). Dr. Baker's work focuses on improving assessment practices and accountability in educational settings and leveraging technology for effective assessment systems. She holds an Ed.D. from UCLA, where she also earned her M.A. and B.A. in Education and English, respectively. Her extensive publication record includes contributions to influential texts in education, and she has been a leading figure in research design and assessment in education.
