Biography

Eva Bittner has been leading the working group on Business Informatics with a focus on socio-technical system design (WISTS) at the Department of Computer Science at the University of Hamburg since October 2015. Her research interests encompass Collaboration Engineering, Human-Machine Collaboration, Hybrid Intelligence, knowledge work, IT innovation management, and Co-Creation/Social Innovation. She is particularly involved in designing collaborative processes and practices for knowledge-intensive tasks through the use of modern ICT tools. The application domains of her work include small groups and crowd work in organizations of various sizes and sectors, including agile software development, customer service, the automotive industry, and public citizen engagement/smart cities. Eva Bittner has authored numerous national and international scholarly publications and currently coordinates the AI junior research group HyMeKI. She has been active in various roles including as a Track Chair, Associate Editor, and reviewer for numerous conferences and journals. She obtained her doctorate from the University of Kassel in February 2015, focusing on 'Designing Shared Understanding - Collaboration Engineering Improve Team Effectiveness in Heterogeneous Groups.'
