Biography

Eva Hevia is a Professor of Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Bern. She has a rich academic background, having received her PhD in Organometallic Chemistry from Universidad de Oviedo in 2002. After completing her doctorate, she conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Strathclyde from 2003 to 2006. She was awarded a Royal Society University Research Fellowship, during which she served various roles at the same institution, including Senior Lecturer, Reader, and ultimately, Professor from 2013 to 2019. In 2019, she joined the University of Bern as a Professor in Inorganic Chemistry and has since taken on the role of Deputy Director of the Department of Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Pharmaceutical Sciences. Her research focuses on applying polar organometallic reagents in key transformations and understanding the underlying chemistry. She aims to explore new areas in green chemistry and the development of s-block metal catalysts.
