Biography

Eva Koetsier obtained a master's degree in Law and Medicine in 2001 and 2005 respectively. She specialized in Anesthesiology at VU University Medical Center of Amsterdam in 2011. During this period, she worked as a Legal Consultant at a prominent Law Firm in Amsterdam and also served as a columnist on legal cases concerning anesthesiologists, as a member of the Legal Committee of the National Anesthesia Association in the Netherlands. In 2012, she completed a one-year clinical fellowship in Pain Management at OLVG Amsterdam. In 2013, Eva moved to Switzerland where she became a Senior Consultant at the Pain Management Center of the Neurocenter of Southern Switzerland and the Anesthesiology Service of the Ospedale Regionale di Lugano, where she leads research initiatives. In September 2020, she completed her PhD trajectory at Maastricht University and took on the role of Privat Dozent at Università della Svizzera italiana in June 2021. Her research interests primarily focus on minimally invasive (spinal) interventions in neuromodulation and the psychological factors associated with chronic pain.
