Biography

Eva Prats graduated from the School of Architecture of Barcelona (U.P.C.) in 1992 and obtained her Doctorate Cum Laude from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) in 2019. In 1998, she established Flores & Prats, an architecture studio in partnership with Ricardo Flores, which combines design with intense academic activity. She has extensive experience from her time at Enric Miralles’ office and has developed a research career linked to responsibilities in building design, emphasizing the importance of the potential for open interpretations and critical views on built work. Her projects result from open competitions and explore rehabilitation, the reuse of abandoned buildings, social housing, and community building in urban public spaces, incorporating neighbor participation. The studio has also developed portable archives and experimented with film to document architecture, along with conceptual work in edible architecture. Eva has taught as an Associate Professor at the School of Architecture of Barcelona (ETSAB) since 2002 and started as a Guest Professor at the Accademia di Mendrisio in 2023.
