Biography

Professor Eva Sorensen joined the Department of Chemical Engineering at University College London in 1996 and currently serves as the Head of the Department. She has an extensive academic background, having spent a year as a postdoctoral researcher at the Sargent Centre for Process Systems Engineering at Imperial College London prior to her appointment at UCL. Eva is a chartered engineer and scientist, recognized as a Fellow of several prestigious institutions including the Institution of Chemical Engineers, the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, and the Higher Education Academy. In 2023, she was awarded the Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the King's Birthday Honours and is scheduled to be inducted as a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering in 2024. Her research interests span advanced materials, digital manufacturing, and nature-inspired solutions within the field of Chemical Engineering.
