Dr. Evan Kharasch

Biography

Evan Kharasch is the Merel H. Harmel Distinguished Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology at Duke University. He has an extensive background in anesthesiology, focusing on general and vascular transplant anesthesiology as well as translational pain medicine. Kharasch received his M.D. and Ph.D. from Northwestern University, bringing a depth of knowledge from one of the leading institutions in medical research. He has been involved in significant research grants aimed at improving pediatric anesthetic practices. His work has been recognized by the American Society of Anesthesiologists, where he serves as Editor-In-Chief, contributing to the advancement of anesthesiology practices and research. Kharasch's research interests include optimizing pain management strategies, especially for infants and young children undergoing surgical procedures.
