Dr. Evangelos Kranakis

Biography

Evangelos Kranakis received his Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Minnesota in 1980. He has been an invited researcher at numerous universities around the world, including the University of Patras in Rio, University of Athens, Universite de Paris Sud Orsay, Eidgenoessische Technische Hochschule (ETH) in Switzerland, University of Liverpool, Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico, and Simon Fraser University in Vancouver. Kranakis has taught at prestigious institutions such as Purdue University, Yale University, University of Heidelberg, and Universiteit van Amsterdam. He began teaching at Carleton University in 1991 and served as the director of the School of Computer Science from 1994 to 2000. His research focuses on Distributed Network Computing, Algorithmics, Distributed Computational Biology, and Network Security, with a specific emphasis on developing methodologies using rigorous mathematical models to analyze the behavior of interacting and communicating entities.
