Biography

Evangelos Triantafyllou is an Assistant Professor and Group Leader in the Liver Immunology section at Imperial College London's Department of Metabolism, Digestion and Reproduction. He obtained his BSc in Biology from the National Kapodistrian University of Athens, followed by an MSc in Developmental Biology from the University of Bath. He conducted his PhD research at King's College London, focusing on liver immunology and investigating the mechanisms of immune-mediated injury in acute liver failure. During his doctoral studies, he also spent time at the University of Birmingham. Since joining Imperial College London in 2017 as a post-doctoral researcher, he has been working on immune dysregulation related to acute and chronic liver injury, with particular emphasis on the inflammatory and bactericidal functions of monocytes and macrophages. He has received funding from the Rosetrees Trust and the UKRI Medical Research Council for several projects related to his research interests.
