Dr. Evanthia Roussos Torres

Biography

Evanthia Roussos Torres has a rich academic background in Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics, along with a Bachelor of Arts in World Arts and Cultures with a concentration in Dance. She earned her MD/PhD through the Medical Scientist Training Program at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. Following her education, she completed an internal medicine residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and subsequently pursued a fellowship in hematology/oncology at the University of Pennsylvania and Johns Hopkins University. Currently, she serves as an Assistant Professor at the University of Southern California, leading her own lab focused on tumor immunology and the immune microenvironment in breast cancer. Evanthia is dedicated to both her research and her role as an educator, aiming to train future physicians in compassionate and informed patient care. Her personal experiences, especially the impact of her mother's battle with metastatic breast cancer, drive her commitment to advancing treatment options in the field. Outside of academia, she values family life with her husband, a fellow physician, and their children, enjoying activities like traveling and road biking.
