Biography

Dr. Quintin's research aims to identify cognitive and social neural correlates of the musical profile of children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder and to quantify effects of music education on cognitive, social, and brain functioning development. She investigates typical development and neurodevelopmental disorders, including fragile X syndrome, using a combination of cognitive-behavioral and neuroimaging methods in both cross-sectional and longitudinal research designs. Her overarching goal is to improve educational programs and community services, as well as mental health care for individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders, potentially altering cognitive and social development. Dr. Quintin conducted her doctoral research at Université du Québec à Montréal and postdoctoral research at Stanford University and Georgia Institute of Technology. She is a child and adolescent neuropsychologist with a specialization in psychiatry and holds a clinical license from the Ordre des Psychologues du Québec.
