Biography

Evie Spanos is a lecturer at Columbia Law School and serves as Counsel & Associate General Counsel at Susman Godfrey LLP. She has represented individuals and corporations in litigation and pre-litigation matters, as well as internal regulatory investigations across a broad range of industries including media, entertainment, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, financial services, real estate, land use, energy, consumer goods, and insurance. Evie advocates on behalf of clients in federal and state proceedings at trial, appellate, and regulatory stages, as well as in arbitration and mediation proceedings and before industry self-regulatory organizations. Her work encompasses representing clients in business divorce, false advertising, bankruptcy, employment, antitrust, and securities litigation. Additionally, she advises on intellectual property matters, particularly with significant experience in Hatch-Waxman litigation involving early-stage companies. Besides her litigation work, Evie has also served as General Counsel for tech start-ups in the FinTech and PropTech sectors. She holds a J.D. from Columbia Law School, where she was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar, and a B.A. from Harvard University, graduating cum laude.
