Dr. Ewoudt Van De Garde

Biography

Ewoudt van de Garde is an Associate Professor at Utrecht University, specializing in Clinical Pharmacotherapy, Pharmacoepidemiology, and Clinical Pharmacology. He is a board-certified Clinical Pharmacologist and Epidemiologist who works at St. Antonius Hospital Utrecht/Nieuwegein. His main research focuses on understanding pre-marketing authorization clinical trial results and their translation into real-world outcomes. He conducts efficacy-effectiveness studies in oncology and inflammatory diseases and emphasizes the application of real-world outcomes data for shared decision-making with patients. Additionally, Dr. van de Garde has a strong background in clinical pharmacy education, taking an active role in teaching within the Master of Pharmacy curriculum and serving as the residency program director at St. Antonius Hospital. He has contributed to over 100 publications in international peer-reviewed journals and has co-supervised 8 PhD students. His professional involvement includes memberships in various scientific advisory boards and committees, further highlighting his commitment to advancing the field of clinical pharmacy.
