Biography

Fabian Büchele is an attending physician at the Department of Neurology at the University Hospital Zurich. He specializes in movement disorders, including Parkinson’s disease and tremors, and is the head of the Deep Brain Stimulation Section. His expertise includes escalation therapies for movement disorders, such as deep brain stimulation, focused ultrasound, and pump therapies. Büchele’s research focuses on Parkinson's disease, specifically regarding sleep and neurodegeneration, and he is an active member of several professional societies including the German Society for Neurology and the Swiss Movement Disorders Society. He has held various positions within the University Hospital Zurich, progressing from resident to senior physician and now to attending physician, showcasing his extensive experience in the field of neurology. His academic journey began with medical studies at the University of Heidelberg, followed by fellowships and residency in renowned institutions.
