Dr. Fabian Laage Gaupp

Biography

Fabian M. Laage Gaupp, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Vascular Interventional Radiology at Yale School of Medicine, specializing in minimally invasive, image-guided procedures to treat conditions affecting men's and women's health. He addresses benign prostatic hyperplasia and uterine fibroids through techniques such as prostate artery embolization and uterine fibroid embolization. Dr. Laage Gaupp is passionate about reducing the reliance on general anesthesia and long hospital stays, advocating that interventional radiology can provide effective treatments that allow for outpatient recovery. He completed his medical training at Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich, followed by a surgical internship at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital and residency in interventional radiology at Yale New Haven Hospital, where he also served as Chief Resident. Moreover, he co-founded Road2IR, an international consortium dedicated to establishing interventional radiology training programs in East Africa. Through this initiative, Dr. Laage Gaupp aims to expand access to minimally invasive procedures for patients in the region. He is actively involved in educating future specialists in interventional radiology and has contributed to numerous publications in the field.
