Biography

Fabienne Peter is a Professor of Philosophy at the University of Warwick, specializing in moral and political philosophy, social epistemology, and political epistemology. She served as the Head of the Department from 2017 to 2020 and currently holds the position of Deputy Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the University's Research Executive, where she is responsible for interdisciplinary research and research communications. Prior to her time at Warwick, she was a postdoctoral researcher at Harvard University and an assistant professor at the University of Basel. She has held visiting positions at the Research School of Social Sciences at the Australian National University and the Murphy Institute at Tulane University. Fabienne is an associate editor of the Journal of Moral Philosophy and has previously served as an editor for Economics and Philosophy and as an associate editor for the Journal of Applied Philosophy. She is also the President of the Aristotelian Society for the academic year 2024/25. Her recent publications include her book 'Grounds of Political Legitimacy' published in 2023 by Oxford University Press and several articles in prestigious journals and anthology collections involving political philosophy, legitimacy, and the role of news media in democracy.
