Dr. Fabio Semperlotti

Biography

Fabio Semperlotti is a Professor in the School of Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University. He earned his M.S. in Aerospace Engineering in 2000 and M.S. in Astronautics Engineering in 2002 from the University of Rome 'La Sapienza'. He completed his Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering at Pennsylvania State University in 2009. His research focuses on areas such as acoustic elastic metamaterials, fractional calculus, and theoretical computational mechanics. He is particularly interested in machine learning applications in computational mechanics and quantum algorithms related to computational mechanics. Additionally, he investigates structural health monitoring, wave propagation, and vibration control. His work contributes to advancements in dynamics and vibration, solid mechanics, and computational engineering, specifically in acoustics and noise control and advanced materials.
