Biography

Fabrizio Mazzonna is a Professor of Economics at the Università della Svizzera italiana. He completed his PhD in Econometrics at the University of Rome Tor Vergata in 2011. Prior to joining USI in 2013, he held the position of Senior Researcher at the Munich Center of Economics of Ageing (MEA) at the Max Planck Institute in Munich from 2011 to 2012. In 2010, he was a visiting researcher at University College London (UCL). Currently, he serves as the director of the Center for Economic Political Research on Aging (CEPRA) and has held various leadership roles including scientific director of the Swiss School of Public Health (SSPH+) and academic director of the SSPH+ International Doctoral Courses in Health Economics Policy. His research is primarily focused on aging issues, determinants of health, and cognitive decline. He has published numerous articles in international journals addressing the effects of retirement, education, and cognitive abilities, among other health-related topics.
