Biography

Fabrizio Zilibotti is the Tuntex Professor of International Development Economics in the Department of Economics at Yale University. He earned his Laurea in Political Science from the University of Bologna in 1989, followed by his PhD in Economics from the London School of Economics in 1994. He has held academic positions at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, University College London, Stockholm University, and the University of Zurich. Zilibotti is also a Fellow of the Econometric Society, the European Economic Association (EEA), and the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR). He served as the President of the EEA in 2016 and has received several prestigious awards, including the Yrjö Jahnsson Award in 2009 and the Sun Yefang Award in 2012. His editorial roles include serving as co-editor of Econometrica from 2016 to 2019 and chief editor of the Journal of the European Economic Association from 2009 to 2014. His research focuses on macroeconomics, economic growth and development, family economics, and economic development in China, with numerous publications in renowned journals such as the American Economic Review and Econometrica.
