Fady Shanouda is a Critical Disability Studies scholar whose research examines the experiences of disabled mad students in higher education. His scholarly contributions lie at the theoretical and pedagogical intersections of Disability, Mad, and Fat Studies, including socio-historical examinations of the interconnections among colonialism, racism, ableism/sanism, and fatphobia. His research focuses on diversely-positioned disabled, fat, POC, and immigrant settlers living and working in creating on the ancestral traditional territories of the Mississaugas of the Credit, Haudenosaunee, Anishinaabe, Huron-Wendat, and the unceded territories of the Algonquin nation.
