Biography

Dr. Fani Deligianni holds a PhD in Medical Image Computing from Imperial College London, as well as an MSc in Advanced Computing from Imperial College London and an MSc in Neuroscience from University College London. She also earned a Master of Engineering in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Aristotle University in Greece. Her PhD research focused on augmenting 3D reconstructed models of the bronchial tree using 2D video images acquired through bronchoscopy, modeling bronchial deformation with Active Shape Models (ASM) and a predictive tracking algorithm to enhance the tracking of the endoscopic camera. Dr. Deligianni is part of the Information, Data & Analysis Section, leading the Biomedical AI and Imaging Lab, which specializes in machine learning approaches for analyzing medical images and neuro-physiological signals related to human motion. She oversees research under the Computing Technologies Healthcare theme at the School of Computing Science, coordinating the Glasgow Women in Computing Science group. Her research interests include Medical Image Computing, Statistical Machine Learning, Human Motion Analysis, Neuroimage Analysis, Brain Connectivity, Deep Learning, Healthcare Applications, and Clinical Decision Support Systems.
