Biography

Fany Kuzmova is an architect, designer, and educator dedicated to bridging architectural design, urbanism, and community engagement through her teaching. She holds a Master of Architecture from Yale University and a B.A. (Hons) in Architecture from the University of Cambridge. Her professional experience includes roles as a Designer at Atelier Cho Thompson and as an Architectural Assistant in various architecture studios in London and Cambridge, UK. Kuzmova has served as an Architecture Tutor for over seven years and has curated and taught a summer course at Immerse Education–UCL, London. She has also conducted workshops for the organization Architecture for Children in Sofia, Bulgaria, in 2015, and taught undergraduate classes at Yale, focusing on Urban Lab, Scales of Design, American Architecture and Urbanism, and Introduction to Urban Studies. Her work has been published in Yale Retrospecta, and she is known for her undergraduate dissertation titled “Preparing Children and Young People for Participation in Planning and Design,” which was awarded First-class honors. Kuzmova envisions a future in architecture that emphasizes the role of design as a tool for fostering active participation, inclusivity, and empowerment in communities.
