Biography

Farhad Rachidi-Haeri is a titular professor and head of the Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Laboratory at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL). He received his M.S. degree in electrical engineering in 1986 and his Ph.D. in 1991 from EPFL. Rachidi-Haeri has been actively involved in EMC research since the early 1980s and has significantly contributed to the field with over 400 scientific papers published in peer-reviewed journals and more than 500 papers presented at international conferences. His work has been funded by prestigious organizations including the Swiss National Science Foundation and the European Space Agency. His research interests focus on electromagnetic phenomena related to lightning, including lightning protection, propagation, and related computational methodologies. He has also been recognized with several awards for his contributions to the field, including the IEEE EMC Technical Achievement Award and the CIGRE Technical Committee Award.
